Vehicle Description For This *Chevrolet* *Low Cab 1/2 Ton*
This 1936 Chevrolet pickup truck is a beautifully restored example. The current owner purchased the truck in 2015 and is only the third owner since new. Prior to that, the second owner had dismantled the truck with the intention of building a rat rod but ultimately lost interest, leaving the project unfinished.
Upon acquiring the truck, the current owner made it his goal to return it as close to its original factory condition as possible. With the exception of the tailgate, all body components are original to the truck. A trusted local friend completed the entire restoration over a four-year period, paying close attention to authenticity and detail throughout the process.
The engine was professionally rebuilt by Harts Engine in Indiana, ensuring reliability while maintaining period correctness. The truck was painted in 2018, and the pinstriping was hand-painted, adding to its classic character. It sits on artillery-style rims, which were a factory-available option for Chevrolet trucks in 1936, further enhancing its originality.
