Northeast Staffing Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Foreman for a temp-to-permanent position with one of our valued industrial manufacturing clients. Compensation is based on experience.
Position Summary
The Foreman is responsible for supervising daily plant operations, coordinating production activities, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality workmanship throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication skills, and hands-on industrial experience.
Key Responsibilities
Open and/or close the production area
Prioritize daily work orders and production schedules
Direct and supervise employees throughout the plant
Maintain a safe and productive work environment
Ensure employees follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Coordinate manpower between workstations as needed
Oversee proper material handling, racking, and unracking procedures
Supervise cutting, torch work, and related production tasks
Inspect quality issues and monitor cleaning processes
Report injuries and workplace incidents promptly
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certification required)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work throughout an entire shift
Comfortable working in industrial and manufacturing environments
Safety Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Wear required PPE at all times, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots
Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and report concerns immediately
Participate in required safety meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
Previous supervisory or foreman experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred
Forklift and overhead crane certification required
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage teams and production workflow efficiently
OSHA 10 certification, CPR, First Aid, and AED training are a plus
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
